What is it you would want to see -- the RFP, or what?

Dave,

That sounds pretty much like where we're heading. I'd love to see your finished product!

Sarah:

For what it is worth, we are putting into place, hopefully this week, a "Master Contract," where agencies can acquire AT-related services with a work order, from pre-approved vendors. The services available include web site accessibility testing, document remediation, audio and/or video captioning, and accessibility training.

Subject: [WebAIM] "Request For Information": IT Accessibility-related services

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has just issued a Request For Information (RFI) that you may be interested in: ITDRFI 12-12

We currently have a multiyear statewide contract for accessibility testing services, ITS34. (Statewide contracts allow us to pre-qualify vendors so that agencies can use a shorter procurement process, and can be used by state agencies, cities and towns, public schools, and other political subdivisions.) This contract is going to expire on June 30, 2012. We are considering including other IT accessibility-related services on the replacement contract.

An RFI is not a request for bids: it is a procurement tool that allows us to ask vendors about their products, without any commitments on either side. This RFI is so we can gather information on what those "IT accessibility-related services" might be.

You can find the RFI at http://mass.gov/commpass (Apologies for our ancient and awkward procurement system, which has accessibility issues and does not allow direct linking.)

1. Select the "Solicitations" link at the top of the page 2. Select the "Search for a Solicitation" link 3. Enter "rfi 12-12" into the keywords field 4. Select the link "There are 1 Solicitation(s) found that match your search criteria"
5. Select the eyeglasses icon link (alt=view) 6. Select "Specifications"
7. Select the eyeglasses icon link (alt=View Document)

This will take you to the Word document, ITAccessibilityServices_RFINumber12-12.docx, which contains the information you will need to respond.

Thank you for your interest,
