Yes they should be separate I think if it starts the date picker
automatically then the user may not be able to understand what to do as
quickly let me clarify that all I tested is the edit field not the picker.

Lucy, do you think it would be bothersome to have the datepicker
automatically launched upon tabbing into the date field? We are trying to
decide which way works best for everybody.
