Verizon Labs in Waltham, MA has an opening for a summer intern, sponsored by
the Verizon Disability Issues Awareness Leaders (DIAL) group. Below is a job
description. This is a paid internship.

We are interested in a college, graduate-level, or post-graduate level
intern to help us with usability projects, such as a redesign of the
internal User-Centered-Design website, including look-and-feel and
information architecture changes. We use this website to communicate the
services we offer and post deliverables for our internal clients. Other job
responsibilities include usability research or user interface design
projects, such as a competitive analysis of TV providers and their websites.
The candidate would preferably have some experience with user interface
design best practices, as well as basic html and web design skills.
Alternative job responsibilities include recruiting subjects for various
research studies; for that task, communication skills are critical. This
position may continue as a Contractor position at the end of the internship.
This candidate would ideally come from the human factors, usability,
accessibility or web design field, but candidates in related fields may
apply.
