The fourth WebAIM screen reader user survey is now available at
http://webaim.org/projects/screenreadersurvey4/. The survey results
provide invaluable data for web developers, disability advocates, and
standards bodies. Please take the survey and help spread the word.

I think you need to work on the survey a little more the radio buttons and
the check box questions did not read the question if I was in forms mode. I
had to keep dropping in and out of forms to find out what the question was.

Lucia-
The survey uses proper labels and fielsets/legends, so I'm not sure
what the issue would be.
If you are using Window Eyes, it has never supported properly
formatted fieldsets and legends by default. I think there may be a
fieldset verbosity setting that you need to enable or customize. I
recommend that you bring this up with GW Micro (I have brought this to
their attention many times in the last several years) or use a screen
reader that supports form accessibility by default.

Hi:
I am using jaws.
I knew you would not have done it wrong. I am using jaws 13. And every time
the type of question was a check box or
A radio button I need to turn forms mode off. I would have stayed out of
forms mode but I needed to be in it to make choices in the combo boxes.
Strange at best.

Thank you Jared
Great that you added regions to this survey (or I do not remember them
from last time).
I have forwarded your announcements to my colleagues in Europe and the
European Blind Union technology mailing list.
I will forward elsewhere if it seems appropriate to do so.
If possible, would you please consider showing breakdown of sceen
reader usage by continent?
Thanks

We certainly will be reporting any notable differences in data between
regions. We wish that we had collected location demographics on
previous surveys.
Thank you for spreading the word.

I just tested again in JAWS 13 in both IE and Firefox and the fieldset
legend (the question) is read appropriately for all of the checkbox
and radio button questions. I can't find a setting that would turn
this off, but it seems to be some configuration on your system that is
causing this.

Hi, Jared, will WebAIM be conducting a speech recognition software user survey anytime (soon)?
Thanks!

We would like to do a survey or surveys for other types of assistive
technologies. We're very open to suggestions and questions for these
types of surveys or for future screen reader surveys.

Hi Jared,
Although I follow this forum daily, I don't always post... but, I wanted to write in and say that I took the survey and didn't have any problems with it. I am a Jaws tester for Social Security; and I'm always willing to test software using Jaws for other companies.
