Hello-
On my Macbook Pro (Snow Leopard) Laptop, I have JAWS 13 running on Parallels Windows 7. As many of us know, the insert and home keys are missing. I have tried using the site on WebAim:
http://webaim.org/blog/screenreaders_on_mac/

However, it is a few years old and only mentions XP/Vista. I have tried these steps for the Windows 7, but it is not working. Not working in the sense of I can download the remaping key and opened this (it is located at C:Program FilesWindows Resource KitsTools). But that is about it.

When making the change and trying to save and exit, I get a message stating "Cannot open registry". Then, when I click OK, it tells me "System registry has been changed. Do you want to reboot the system?" When I click Yes, and the system is rebooted, none of the changes are in place.

Has anyone else been able to get this working and how?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Heidi-

As you note, the article is a few years old. I've yet to find a
solution for Windows 7 (I run it in VMWare), so have reverted to using
an external, full-size keyboard. I'd be very happy to know if anyone
has a solution for mapping the JAWS key in Windows 7 in Parallels or
VMWare Fusion.

I got it working on my home computer. I'm pretty sure I used sharp keys:

I also used Sharp Keys with Parallels 7, Windows 7, and JAWS 13. So far, so good!

Hey all,

Some what related, I've also had success using SharpKeys to get the
NVDA key remapped, in Windows 7, running under Parallels 7 and
Mac OS Lion (laptop)
