At the meeting, I believe the decision of the group (by consensus) was that
the subcommittee meetings/calls should be open to all, but that the wiki was
supposed to only be open for editing to subcommittee members. Anyone can be
a subcommittee member, but it requires declaring yourself as a member. The
purpose of this is to prevent random people, lurkers, or those who have not
declared from stepping in and editing the wiki.

Since it was a decision of the TEITAC by consensus, I'm not sure it is up to
us to revisit this decision as part of the task force - it would be
something that could be raised and re-discussed at the next meeting.

Aside from maintaining balance, per the protocols, I am afraid I do not
understand the need, at this time at least, of locking down the subcommittee
membership roles nor the wiki. I guess that is up to each subcommittee.

Is there a mechanism to limit editing of the wiki to the official
subcommittee members as we had previously discussed?

I think we said that people should send an email to convenor or chairs if
they want to be on the committee. The maillist is broader I think.

Periodically we can remind people (via the list) that if they aren't on the
Workpage list for the committee members and would like to be official
members - so send a note to the chairs.

I was curious about this too. But the listservs will have plenty of
lurkers. We do not want to overexpose email addresses to spammer. And the
listserv roles will not reflect people who regularly review the archives.
There is no requirement, nor expectation really, that people add their name
to the wiki page.

What I have concluded is that maintaining accurate track of subcommittee
participation or interest is nearly impossible. People's level of interest
will ultimately be measured by their contribution to discussion on the
listservs.

Yes, use the listserv as a means to communicate to get the subcommittee
moving. I am not of the opinion that you need to send a back-up email to
send directly to those who have indicated interest, that is what the
listservs are for. The listserv archives are now available, so future
participants can use that to get up to speed.

One last question- unrelated to relay services. Is there a way for me to see
who has signed up for the Subpart A workgroup? I can see the participant
list, but am assuming that it is populated by direct edits to the wiki
versus a reflection of who has actually signed up for the subpart A
listserv. I know of at least one person who signed up via the list serv but
whose name doesn't appear on the participant list because they haven't
edited that section. I have a long list of people who have told me they
want to be on the workgroup, but they don't show up on the wiki subpart A
committee list. I would like to use the listserv as a means to communicate
to get us moving, but don't want to assume that the list serv will reach all
of those who've indicated interest and whether or not I need to have a back
up email to send directly to those who have indicated interest.
