this is more confusing than ever. First, apple and microsoft for
that matter have far more than screen reading in their accessibility
arsenals but putting that aside for the moment, I don't find
voiceover anywhere in apps. I can install jaws on any computer, but
if I install tiger on a Mac, I get VoiceOver whether I want it or
not. I don't think then that it is at outside offf IT.

Also, Apple’s screen reader uses accessibility API’s built into the

So, technically, I think it would fit into Gregg’s category 1: an IT
product that is compatible with external AT.
