<Note: This note was sent to the initial 40 members of the Software and Web
subcommittee before the mailing list was available. Re-posting it now so
those who joined via the list can see it and so that it is available in the
archives.>
Thanks to all of you who have expressed interest in working on the SW, Web,
and Content TEITAC Subcommittee.
We are up to about 40 members on this subcommittee and I am still getting
more requests to join. I don't think it is likely that we will be able to
find a time when ALL 40 people are available in the near future so I would
like to propose the following meeting schedule of 1-hour teleconference
meetings:
Wednesday, October 11th at 11:30 US Eastern time <Note that this
teleconference has now been cancelled.>
Wednesday, October 18th at 11:30 US Eastern time
Tuesday, October 24th at 2 PM US Eastern time
Monday, October 30th at 12 noon US Eastern time
I will send out meeting minutes so if you can't attend, you will still be
able to follow what is happening. Until we have a list serve, we will just
have to discuss things between meetings via simple e-mail.
Our first order of business is to select the co-chairs we will recommend to
the TEITAC chairs. I wonder if we might close on this piece of business via
e-mail to save time and so that everyone, even those who can't attend the
first meeting, can voice their opinions.
Curtis Chong of NFB has graciously volunteered to be a co-chair. And I will
also volunteer to be the other co-chair. So far, no one else has expressed
interest in the co-chair positions but I haven't really asked if anyone
wants to do it. So please, now is the time to speak up if you are
interested. If we have more volunteers, we'll have to have a process
(vote?) to close on this.
I have been thinking about the agenda for our first meeting. But I would
like to hear input from any of you who have ideas about that before I send
one. We have a lot to cover on this subcommittee so we need to think about
a short term goal that we might reasonably accomplish before the next
TEITAC meeting in November.
Please respond regarding your availability on the proposed meeting dates
and let me know if you require captioning or any other special services for
the teleconference. I will send call-in details and an agenda later this
week or early next week.
Andi
