Why cannot the five drafts just be pages on the Wiki? If necessary, we
could alter the permissions so that only the designed Editorial Task
Force members can make changes, but our more open approach has not had
problems.
Also, every page has a "discuss this document" tab, so people can write
in suggestions without editing the proposed content. Up to now, most of
those kinds of conversations have occurred on the lists, but the
committee report certainly deserves additional consideration.
Finally, I want to remind people to please, PLEASE, *PLEASE* trim back
your posts! The threads are extremely difficult to follow if one is not
getting them in real time. (In which case, the top posted content is
superfluous anyway.)
This very thread is but one example of how difficult current habits make
reading messages on the web instead of piecemeal via email. Please take
note how many times Jim's message is repeated here:

You are writing for posterity! More people will be trying to make sense
of these conversations in the next years than get them today in their
in-boxes. Thanks!
