Following is information on formats for references & citations for W3C text
or documents in TEITAC Web/Software Wiki pages. Jim Allan will be editing
these references and citations into the Web/Software Wiki pages, and we're
providing it here in case it's helpful for others.
There are currently two types of citations & references of W3C materials on
the TEITAC Web/Software Wiki:
<http://teitac.org/wiki/Web_and_Software>
1. as a reference in the list of resources
<http://teitac.org/wiki/Web_and_Software#Resources>
2. as excerpted material
<http://teitac.org/wiki/Web_and_Software:_Interaction_and_operating_system>
for instance, under 21.a.
"WCAG 2.0: All functionality of the content is operable through a keyboard
interface without requiring specific timings for individual keystrokes,
except where the underlying task requires analog, time-dependent input."
There are several W3C documents which address copyright and document use.
Relevant ones here are:
- W3C Document License
<http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2002/copyright-documents-20021231>
- Intellectual Rights FAQ
<http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/IPR-FAQ-20000620>
1. For the reference to WCAG 2.0 in the list of resources, please use the
following, which can be updated with the upcoming Working Draft as soon as
available:
" Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/
(W3C Working Draft as of April 2006). Copyright, © 2006 W3C® (MIT, ERCIM,
Keio) http://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2002/copyright-documents-20021231.
All Rights Reserved."
2. For citations of text from WCAG 2.0, a dated reference is needed, but a
complete reference isn't needed since it should already be included in the
overall resource list per (1) above. Please note that if the excerpted text
in TEITAC drafts is from a different Working Draft, the dated version of
the URI for that draft should be used instead of the dated URI below.
"Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0,
http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/WD-WCAG20-20060427/, 27 April 2006, W3C Working
Draft. Latest version at http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/ "
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Judy Brewer and Jim Allan
