Hi Don,
I understand your valid concern. I believe though that the 48" range
is taken from other specifications with which we want to be in
concert. I also don't know but suspect that this is the maximum reach
for most people sitting in wheelchairs.

height than 48 inches. A 54 inch reach height covers this equipment
while 48 inch does not.
I suspect other manufacturers of similar equipment share our concerns.
