I think Greg's prior response assumed that the email renderer is web provided like Hotmail or Gmail.
If the email client is not web provided, like Outlook then the situation would be the same, and neither would be considered web content.

Given that though I think there is a problem, especially for email - determining what is web content depending on what client the recipient is using; that can't be right.

Greg,

I'll have to stand up and disagree with your comments about question number two, HTML help and the like. HTML Help is web content. If you open it in a web browser it renders, links, functions all the same as any other web page. The content follows (or should follow) the technical specifics for HTML. The actual developer controls you use when building your own help browser are HTML controls and widgets. I don't see how this is any different that HTML email.

Can you help me understand how you view them as different?
