We should indeed seek to harmonise, however the WCAG definition is under scrutiny right now, so we should not adopt this language just yet.
The problem is that many people don't immediately think of video with its normal audio track as 'multimedia', even though it is under this definition.
We want to clarify that a little. Which is why I proposed the earlier language for media. But perhaps a better term for it could be defined, such as AV material.

Playing devil's advocate, should we seek to harmonize with the current
WCAG definition of multimedia (see below)?
multimedia
- audio or video synchronized with another format for presenting
information and/or with time-based interactive components.
Thoughts?

would think ...

For video and audio on their own the obvious term would be monomedia.
However a slight simplification can be made if we use the term media to
cover video, audio and video with synchronised audio.
Multimedia as used in this standard includes any content, static or
interactive which includes concurrent media. Examples include (insert
format references). Example of content which is not considered as
"multimedia" for this standard are, (insert examples).

All:
Here is a draft proposal for "multimedia" definition.
Multimedia as used in this standard includes any content, static or
interactive, which includes concurrent synchronized audio and visual
information. Examples include (insert format references). Example of
content which is not considered as "multimedia" for this standard are,
(insert examples).
Q: Is independent video or audio considered multimedia? If not what
term applies to them specifically?
