Gregg,
Sorry. I thought I picked "color schemes" terminology up from ISO but must
not have been awake yet. Changed it. [1]
Contrast ratio definition has not changed. [2]
For software we have the User Preferences provision [3] and the Color
adjustment provision [4].

Hi
I'm confused by the new language.
Proposed new text is very hard to understand. When I read it I think:
- What is a color scheme?
- If my color scheme meets this but I have individual words
that are exceptions to the overall scheme â do those words have to
meet?
- What is the definition of contrast? (same as old
definition I assume but â not clear since not cited)
- Why does large scale text have to meet a contrast ratio
but only schemes for small text? (what is a scheme again?)
Proposed language
Color schemes for text (and images of text) specified in Web content,
documents, or documents combined with presentation instructions (such as
style sheets), must have a contrast ratio of at least 5:1, except if the
text is pure decoration. Large-scale text or images of large-scale text
must allow a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.
SUGGESTION:
1) eliminate the âcolor schemesâ part of it.
2) Change âsuch as style sheetsâ to âsuch as style sheets
or commandsâ since âstyle sheetsâ makes it very specific and unclear
if other means of specifying color would be covered.
3) Add âsoftwareâ to the list of things covered.
NOTE: We need to add another provision to cover software if we use this
language â since it only covers content.
