Hi Gregg,

The animation provision was removed at the August 1st meeting. We always
had an issue with a mismatch between "animation" and "pausing" and
confusion over when one applies vs. the other.

The animation provision is a holdover from the current 508 standard and was
harmonized with a similar ISO provision in our early discussions. It is no
longer in the ISO standard. Instead ISO has a pausing provision that is
harmonized with WCAG and therefore with our Pausing provision. So we
concluded that we did not need the animation provision that is causing
confusion anyway.

The animation provision was one of the few cognitive provisions in the
guidelines.

I note that it was removed during the special Software meeting yesterday.

Can you say why it was removed?

Thanks.
