Greg: I am not sure that I am comfortable with the meaning of "products
designed to be located in public places" -- wouldn't this include a TV?
For example, would all the flat panel displays hung by TSA in an airport
have to include a 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack? This seems an unnecessary
requirement. I think this is more of an implementation issue than a
product issue, so I've proposed additional language below (CAPS) that
might address this issue for product use in public places.
* Products designed to be located in public places must provide an
audio connection via a standard 2.5mm or 3.5mm audio jack OR VIA A
STANDARD INTERFACE THAT SUPPORTS A JACK ADAPTOR at the standard signal
levels used for headphones/headsets.
The original language came from

Thanks, Paul

Thanks Paul,
Just saw this now. But I think it is handled in the new guidelines.
There
are adapters from RCA to headphones -- so they would all meet (c)
Agree?
