Mary, Gregg, TEITAC,
As you know the descriptive header of 6-F was "wideband audio", which
Mary/TIA proposed to change to AUDIO CLARITY FOR VoIP.
To further clarify Note 1 Panasonic proposes to add:
"wideband VoIP audio clarity"
So Note 1 will read as:
Note 1: It is [Delete: recommended] [add: suggested]that G.722 or equivalent
also be provided for [Delete: additional] [Add: wideband VoIP audio]
clarity.
Thanks.
Tony

Subject: [teitac-committee] TIA comment to 6-F
The text for 6-F was discussed in the TEITAC plenary on 2/25 and it was left
for members to do due diligence on Versions 3 (TIA) and 4 (GreggV)
TIA is ok with the text of Version 4, but with two edits to the Note 1.
copied here
Version 4 (GreggV)
VoIP telephones and VoIP telephone-emulation software must be able to
transmit and receive speech that is digitally encoded in the manner
specified by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Standards G.711.For
closed systems, other standards that provide equivalent performance may be
used if conversion to G.711 at the borders of the closed system is
supported.
Note 1: It is [Delete: recommended] [add: suggested]that G.722 or equivalent
also be provided for [Delete: additional] [Add: audio] clarity.
Lastly, TIA suggests that the descriptive header for 6-F be changed to AUDIO
CLARITY FOR VoIP.
