Consumer Presentation Slides

People with disabilities are federal employees and members of the public

Many consumers are accessibility experts and have experience with the
current regulations

An imbalance exists between the resources of industry and those of
consumers in participating in the TEITAC process

Consumers are concerned that products that are theoretically accessible
will not be actually usable by people with disabilities

Procurement should favor the more accessible product.

Procurement practices should be consistent across agencies

Section 255 may be more effective if the Access Board works with the FCC

Provisions that did not reach consensus deserve careful review

Section 508 must be balanced with other procurement requirements, but
they are not automatically less important."
