Jennifer;
Thanks for convening this group. Friday, the 27th at 2pm would be great for me, but both dates and times will work. I would also like to put out there that ACB is interested in possibly co-chairing. Thanks in advance.

We do need to provide two days public notice for the meeting to arrange
captioning and to put it on the Calendar so I believe we're not happening
for Thursday.

Oh...since it was used in the General meeting on Monday I thought
everyone knew about it...
Well I am going to cheat and copy from the Hand Raising Utility page:
The Trace Center <http://trace.wisc.edu> developed the online hand
raising utility to facilitate participation in online teleconferences.
Basically, the program provides a way for participants on a phone call
to be able to "raise their hand" and get in line. As the person chairing
the meeting recognizes people, they can remove them from the list. The
tool has provisions to allow individuals to be recognized out of order
if that is appropriate. But the order in which people raise their hands
is always maintained.
When this was used on Monday for the General teleconference it allowed
for a more orderly meeting. If you want I will ask Greg if it is
available for use by all of the sub committee...

Jared Smith replied to my question - can the Doc & Tech support
subcommittee use it- Yes. Anybody can use it. But just be advised that
it hasn't been fully tested, so things might not work perfectly. Please
provide any feedback.
The use of this utility will improve the captioning that will be done
since there shouldn't be 2-3 people talking at the same time. The web
address http://teitac.org/tohru/. As I understand the process, the
moderator will create a meeting and send that meeting name via the list
serv. Each participant to this meeting would log into the Hand raising
utility by entering their name and meeting name. The moderator will
monitor a queue of names, the first name is the one who had their 'hand
up' first. A participant can lower their hand by removing their name
from the queue.

I was able to set up our meeting on it. The name of the meeting is
Documentation and Technical Support Subcommittee. If the group feels
the need to use this, all participants should go to the website below
before the meeting and log in. We will figure it out together on how it
can be used. Also, I will need to figure out how it works with the
captioning.

Yes, you can use this, but it does have a few bugs as noted. Also, it has
not been released because Trace is making a few changes to it as requested
by the subcommittees who have used it.
One notable annoyance is that if you open a new window while the
hand-raising utility is open, it may log you in a second time and put up
your hand involuntarily. I recommend that if you want to look at the WIKI,
for example, you load that first and then open the hand raising. This will
keep you from raising both hands even when you don't want to talk.
I do agree with Tom that it's a very helpful tool.
