Subject: 508 and ISO on software-web

In order to compare the current 1194.21 and 1194.22 with the ISO standard,
it would help to have a side-by-side comparison: for each provision (of both
508 and ISO):

its closest correspondent in the other standard
important differences between them
reasons why one is "better" than the other (a dialog)
etc.

Is there such a document now, or any precursors? I realize this is a lot of
work, but I imagine it would be useful, and not only to us.

Jim, I think Luke Kowalski has this work item. I have provided it for each
of the Group A items already.

---------------
I guess the idea would be to look at 1194.22 Z(a-p) and map them /reconcile with 9241-151. The only thing I was waiting for was feedback about posting all the clauses side by side, which could mean that the standard is essentially out there. This is good for harmonization and humanity, and I know that a couple of folks assured me that this would be OK, but I am still wrapping up my due dilligence with ISO on that topic...

I echo with the point Alex Li brought up, that is to seperate these two
sections to support the idea of harmonization. I would recommend to use
ISO for 1194.21 and WCAG 2.0 for 1194.22.

Roberto Scano:
I suggest to keep also a reference to ISO 9241-151 Ergonomics of
human-system interaction - Software ergonomics for World Wide Web User
interfaces.
for 1194.22
