Subject: November Draft Status / Additional Notes & Reminders

TEITAC Committee Members:

The November 27th TEITAC Draft has been updated with revisions resulting
from the November meetings, including our plenary call yesterday. Due to the
nature of our plenary meeting schedule over the next three weeks, we are
designating this draft as the "Subpart A and Technical Provisions Working
Draft". Each week the EWG will update the draft in accordance with approved
revisions resulting from our plenary conference calls. We will maintain this
revision process up to and including our December 18th plenary conference
call.

The draft is located on the wiki at:
http://teitac.org/wiki/EWG:Draft_Nov_27. (Please note that the breadcrumb
navigation says, "Editorial Working Group > October 26 Draft". However, the
note immediately following this navigational aid states: "This draft is
based on discussions at the November 2007 plenary meetings." In other words,
you are viewing the current and correct draft!).

Adjustments to the delivery schedule have been made to more accurately
reflect the correct working schedule. This schedule is located at:
http://teitac.org/wiki/Delivery_Plan_2007#Delivery_Schedule.

Please note that the Co-Chairs have decided to enhance the provision
consensus & review process in order to make better use of your time.
Starting today and continuing through the December 18th plenary conference
call, we will make the following adjustments:

1. Each plenary conference call will take place between 1:00 PM EST and 4:00
PM EST. This adds one hour to our current schedule.

2. We respectfully request that you refrain from submitting editorial
comments that are the functional equivalent of wordsmithing. If you do
submit editorial comments of this nature, the EWG will maintain them.
However, these revisions will only be implemented if time allows and under
advisement of the TEITAC co-chairs. The January meetings have been scheduled
specifically for the purpose of final draft clean up. The remaining
editorial comments will be addressed by the committee at that time.

We appreciate that this last statement may be difficult for some to digest.
We also appreciate that everyone is concerned with producing a quality draft
submission. Please understand that we have approximately 75 provisions to
review in 3 weeks. This means we must perform consensus review on 25
provisions each Tuesday. Yesterday we reviewed 7 in two hours and these
provisions were expected to be easy to approve! Much of our time was spent
wordsmithing provisions and not reflective or respective of individual
committee member's valuable time. Keep in mind that most of the provisions
have been in subcommittees who have worked extensively to produce provision
wording that best describes the objective of the provision. Let's respect
their hard work and diligent effort. We encourage you to focus on the task
at hand: Determine consensus of each provision.

Regards and thank you.

I have corrected the breadcrumb information of the Nov 27 draft.

Sorry about that!
