OK. Those who want to administer the calendar will need to e-mail me their
Google account e-mail if they want to adminster through Google Calendar. I
will make the web form for adding events hidden except to administrators.
That way us and subcommittee chairs can add authorized events without
needing Google Calendar.

Thanks, Jared, for setting up the Google calendar. Now, unfortunately,
there will be a lot of stuff to put on it! Do you want to open up its admin
so that anyone on this working group plus the subcommittee co-chairs can add
and edit entries? Or will someone from the Access Board act as calendaring
secretary?

I'm just finishing an interface where anyone can add events to the calendar
- http://teitac.org/calendar The Add Events form isn't done yet, so don't
use it or share this yet.

As before, Google Calendar users can subscribe to the calendar to be able to
view it. Anyone can adminster the calendar, but they need to be a Google
Calendar user and I need their Google e-mail address to give them admin
privileges. It would be nice to have a few others able to add/edit/delete
events, preferable subcommittee chairs.

They also need guidance about things like whether it is OK to use toll

scheduling with tolll-free conference and some with toll. But any guidance
must come to them very, very soon because they're already publishing

Either that or they could mail them to one of the chairs. That way we don't
get EVERYTHING on the calendar.

Any sense to having two calendars?

One is TEITAC events

One is for all the external events (and that could be a lot) so it is easier
for the chairs to avoid things?

Might be too much for one calendar.

Then - any one can post to the external calendar

Only chairs can post to the TEITAC events calendar.

I agree . . . most of the groups have already begun to schedule meetings and
many of the conveners do not understand either how to use/access the
listserve, or the wiki.

If we want to use other tools for the conference calls, we need to be moving
quickly. It also sounds as if the access board stated that there were no
funds available to pay for accessibility for the subcommittees, but that
somehow we have to ensure the accessibility of all subcommittee meetings.
That is potentially a great concern if there is a significant cost involved
in making the calls accessible.

OK, so if I understand this correctly - I've started to get lost in the who
supports which recommendation category :-) - we will keep the Google
Calendar as the administrative interface for events. Only administrators can
approve and add events. The current administrators are myself and Jim.

The calendar is at http://teitac.org/calendar/ This page indicates that
individuals should contact Jim or I to add events. Other AB staff or
subcommittee chairs can be given admin access on request. I also understand
that this calendar is only for committee and sub-committee activities.

In regards to accessibility, all events are displayed in plain HTML in
addition to the Google Calendar iframe. The calendar that is embedded within
the wiki will go away (because it can't display event in HTML).

I'm not sure what was meant about "no software development". If it was in
reference to the Add Events form, that is just a matter of my copying and
pasting some code and adding form labels to an existing form. I think if we
can get a few more administrators to add/manage events, especially for their
own subcommittees, then the form won't be necessary.

I believe this addresses the issues at hand. If I'm missing something, let
me know.
