Subject: April 18th Face to Face meeting
Dear Members of TEITAC
The Telecommunications Sub Committee is holding a drafting day this week
on Wednesday, April 18th at the Motorola office 1455 Pennyslvania Avenue
9th floor suite.
To be frank the reason for having this face to face meeting is to
respond to the frustrations of some of the Telecommunications
subcommittee members who felt disenfranchised by the total focus on an
electronic process. Dealing with far from adequate captioning, lack of
familiarity with Wikis, and even in some cases list servs, some people
wanted a good old fashioned meeting with paper and pencil and work
collaboratively around a table. They felt they could get more done that
way and we tried to respond to that. The meeting will be accessible
with CART.
We have been criticised for not providing remote access. This would
defeat the original purpose. However, we do invite participation and be
sure to let Mary Brooner know if you will attend by noon Tuesday, April
17th for security reasons.
