Agenda
Reminder of the current schedule:
- June 18: Third (final?) draft due
Discussion
- Review our proposed provisions in the format from the Editorial Working Group
- Determine if any changes are needed to our proposed provisions due to Linear Sort Format proposed by the General subcommittee (Links to the format will be added when the general subcommittee wiki page is available.)
Whitney Q A few brief notes from our meeting at the plenary:
- There was an extensive discussion of delivery format. Several people articulated the point that one of the important aspects of "alternative delivery formats" is the preparation of the materials so they are "alternative ready" - especially for Braille. The goal is that creating these formats does not require editorial work, just a sort of on-demand publishing.
- The NIMUS guidelines might be helpful in defining "editorial"
- Alternative formats provided..."in a reasonable time"
- We need to define alternative format for the definitions.
- We need to think carefully about the difference between the consumer scenario (255) and the procurement scenario (508) and make sure we have addressed both, even if in two different requirements.
- Both Diane Golden and Terry Weaver have sample contract language that could be useful in an Advisory Note, or might have language we could use as inspiration for the provisions.
Allen Hoffman has taken up the challenge to re-craft the provisions to incorporate the points raised.
