New text proposed in November plenary:
Products procured must be capable of being configured to be accessible to and usable by people with disabilities while simultaneously meeting the product's function. The accessibility features should not disable any product functions.
Notes from November plenary:
- Agreement to move this to Subpart A - later decided when reviewing 1.2-B to create a new section that includes both of them.
- Recommend make a note of server settings vs. client systems
Text from Oct 26 Draft:
In complying with this subpart, each agency must activate accessibility features and configure products so that they are accessible to and usable by people with disabilities.
New version proposed for this provision by Gregg V
In complying with this subpart:
- Products procured must be capable of being configured to be accessible to and usable by people with disabilities while simultaneously meeting the product's function.
- After procurement each agency must activate accessibility features and configure products so that they are accessible to and usable by people with disabilities who will be using the products or systems.
Rationale: Based on an earlier comment from Robert B that this should be a two-part provision, and updated to remove the references to RFPs
New version proposed by ITI:
As needed by employees and members of the public, agencies must activate accessibility features and configure products so that they are accessible to and usable by people with disabilities.
