Issues related to multiple chemical sensitivity

CHEM SENSITIVITE PAGE

At the end of the first 508 Advisory Committee process in 1999 we heard testimony from an individual requesting that issues related to multiple chemical sensitivity be considered. We were too late in the process to do that at the time. We should probably add that to the agenda in the same context as cognitive and developmental disabilities. In particular, one suggestion might be that all new EIT be “burned in” for some period of time prior to insertion into the workplace or public space to minimize the chemical off gassing caused by heating of newer EIT. I’m not an expert in this so I can’t suggest anything specific, but at least we should consider the issue. (Randy Dipner)
