Theme:Emerging Products and Components

As new technologies appear on the horizon and then enter the federal market, they will have positive and negative accessibility implications. How can we identify these early and "intervene" efficiently? There will be products/components that can be covered by existing Standards, and ones that require new Standards.

--Cyndi 15:32, October 6, 2006 (MDT)We also need to be thinking about how the convergence of multiple technologies may in fact be an emerging product as well. I believe this convergence may affect what would be needed from the Standards. In some combinations they may pose accessibility challenges that are not present when technology is separated. Of course this then becomes another argument for Gregg's position to take a functional approach.
