Good morning folks,

I am looking for a good, free, plug-in for either firefox or ie that
will allow me test a local file for accessibility. Similar to the local
file html validator in the developer tool bar. The tools in the
accessibility tool bar and the developer tool bar require that the
service be able to access the pages directly through the server. This
is not possible for secure intranet files and for files buried inside of
multipage forms etc because of authorization, cookie or session
requirements.

Thanks,

Mike

WebAIM is doing some final work and testing on a client-side version of a
new version of WAVE. It will run as a Firefox extension and will perform
all of the analysis locally. I'll e-mail you a copy off-list, though
there's still work to be done. We hope to release it publicly within a few
weeks. We're also working on a new server version and will be soliciting
feedback soon.

The mozilla/firefox accessibility extension allows for easily
looking for accessibility features: form controls, headers,
ALT text for images, document linearization and much more.
