Yeah. That's right. Even sighted folks with no other
disabilities except maybe needing corrective lenses,
have trouble with these things. I'm a Window Eyes user
with no vision. I always get my Mom to help me with
the captchas. The sound alternatives I've come across
up till now never play, and I once called the number
that Yahoo gives you if you can't see the picture with
the predictable result, you guessed it, nobody ever
called me back. That was the first and last time I
ever did that. When my Mom helps me with them I've
noticed a rule of three. It usually takes three tries
to get it right. Yes, she wears trifocals, but she has
a valid Kansas driver's license too. I even had her
help me help someone else once. A friend of mine in
Bahia Brazil who's husband is also totally blind
wanted to set up a passport account on MSN. They have
two kids, a two-year-old and a four-year-old at the
time. They certainly wouldn't have been able to do it.
