Subject: FYI: Interoperable Assessment Technology Standards Public Responses

The U.S. Department of Education recently sent out a Request for
Information (RFI) to gather technical input on assessment technology
standards, which included some questions on accessibility. The
Department has provided public access to the comments submitted through
this process.

The comments submitted by the Learning Disabilities Association of
America can be read here:

Interesting. I had to chuckle though that the document (.doc) is not marked up very well in the headline department (bold text instead of headlines) - especially when one of the pseudo-headlines is "Use Markup to express content whenever possible" !

Yes...they should have just put all the comments up in HTML instead of
posting in Word or PDF. One never knows how they end up posting these
things. I remember not too long ago when Steve Jacobs comments (dealing
with accessibility) to some federal agency was simply posted as an image
PDF and this totally inaccessible!
