Subject: UK innovation / accessibility contest

Hi

I work for the Technology Strategy Board, an agency of the UK government tasked with helping innovation across various sectors in the UK.
We're currently running a contest aimed at uncovering some of the best ideas / prototypes around film and TV covering a variety of types of digital engagement with a variety of partners, one of whom is the RNIB (Royal National Institute for Blind People)
Together with RNIB we're hoping to find a great way to make TV more accessible through the creation of a 'domestic control centre'. There is a GBP £25,000 fund for the best idea to help develop a prototype.

The application or service should allow:

Users to create a profile based on the TV set up they have from a selectable list
Users to log in, either via a browser, via an app or using a standard remote device; and to control their TV set up via their connected device
Controls such as channel change, access to EPG and selection of programmes for recording or reminders, should be accessible via an accessible interface
