Given that IE browser has the zoom feature, how important is it to still use relative font sizes that will respond when increasing text size in IE?

Thank you for your opinions.

All the modern browsers now do zoom. They also allow a user to set the default font size. So for a vision impaired user who prefers a larger font size by default, that will not zoom the pages, only enlarge the text. So, need to make usre that Web content will display correctly with enlarged font sizes (and not just zoom).

As a bad eyed IE user, I have not used font size for quite a while.
Ctrl Plus does admirably. My only problem is in keeping the copy on the
screen. Word wrap is not always available. I had the problem today at
the Access Board site.
