We have several staff directory pages where there is a picture of the person then directly to the right is their info which includes name, title, email address, phone number, etc. Since the text is right next to each picture, is alt text needed?

I can provide an example if needed.

Thanks

Hi Bill,

I would suggest providing an alternate text for the picture such as
"photo of person name" or "person name". Though it seems like
duplication the alternate text says to the screen reader user that the
image of the person is provided on the page. If the alt is kept to null
the image will be ignored to them.

Thanks & Regards
Rakesh
