List,

As a part of my new role here at QSSI, I'm tasked with remaining current on best practices/solutions for insuring that our products that we deliver (web-based applications and electronic documents) are conformant with Section508, WCAG and the ADA. Thus, I'm looking for a list of conferences that I should potentially attend this summer. If anyone has a list of such events, please Email them to me.

Thanks so much.

Respectfully,
Thomas Lee McKeithan II

There are going to be several presentations on accessibility at UXPA 2014
in London later this month.

Interesting communication approach - unless one already knows what "UXPA" is, the uxpa.org website won't tell you…

Just playing Devil's Advocate, as I'm not a UXPA member, but I was
wondering where they don't tell you what UXPA is?

Its in the <title> tag, its in the header (unfortunately as a BG image
with a title attribute), in the alt text of their logo, in the top left
content block (under the apparently obligatory carousel) and on the
membership page. Likely more places I'm sure, but that was within one
click...

Karl Groves just alerted me that my statement was misleading, as the uxpa.org website works just fine. It is the conference specific website uxpa2014.org that does indeed have the problem I was trying to point out.

In that case, you're spot on. ;-)

Olaf,

You are quite right about the conference site, which never spells out the
acronym, or provides an obvious link to the organization page.

I've let the conference and organization leadership know. Dope slaps all
around resulted.

Thanks for seeing the site with a fresh view to remind us of communications
basics, especially when conference sites are separate from the organization
site.

Whitney
