I am seeking opinions on the most appropriate and accurate semantic roles to use for a map's key or legend. The legend includes pairs of symbols and text descriptions. It seems like a table, unordered list and definition list could all be viable options. Thanks in advance for your insight.

Perfect timing for me too! And my key uses font awesome icons so I'm interested how to best indicate the connection between the icon and the descriptive text in the key.
