I don't know if anyone has seen this or not yet but I came across this article
<http://bigthink.com/design-for-good/the-worlds-first-tablet-for-blind-people>;over
the weekend.

I've seen the technology before that they use for the tablet screen and
it's REALLY impressive, I just didn't think it was ready for commercial
deployment yet but apparently the creator <http://blitab.com/>;of this
tablet thinks otherwise.

For blind users who can read braille - I think that is still up to a
third, depending on language/country/cause of blindness/etc, this seems
pretty nice. And I do like the underlying technology.

But there is a lot of over-hyped nonsense here too. The claim that blind
people can't use lots of tablets and smartphones already is just flat
out incorrect - or "alternative fact", as some people prefer to say
about things that used to be called "BS".

cheers

Hello,
I don't think it will be coming to market any time soon. Many prominent
people in the blind comunity have been emailing them asking to be
distributors, investors and beta testers. They have not responded to any
request.
They have also been absent from the blind comunity in the U.S. and they did
not show up at CSUN which is rather strange for a blindness tech product.
Other than that, it is a really awesome product.
Thanks,

@Brandon - Thanks for that and yea that's a shame that the company doesn't
seem to want to respond on such an (potentially) awesome product

Hello,

It really is a shame. I sent them an email wanting to preorder one of
these and heard nothing. One of these types of devices could really be
benificial for blind web developers. It would help us be able to
understand the layout of the pages we are creating more.
