Hi,
For screen reader users here, do you know a way to use developer tools, rather than your screen reader, to examine things like font size when you want to inspect an element?

Thanks.

Jim

Jim

I've used Firebug to examine the HTML and CSS of elements (see my
article over on www.bats.fyi), you can do similar with Firefox dev
tools.
When it comes to things like font size or type and keyboard focus
outline I don't try to call the shots but pass those over to a sighted
colleague.
Even if I could work out the font size there are other factors like
font type and font weight that play into how clear and readable the
font is, and I believe that problem is inherently so visual that I
don't try to make the calls on it.
That's just my approach and I am always learning new things and
perspectives, so if any screen reader user can make meaningful calls
on font size or eight, keyboard focus outlines or color contrast, I'm
eager to listen.
