Subject: Embedding links in an editor

Hello wonderful people,

We have embed link functionality in one of our products, which states the
following:-

1. If the focus is not in the text editor and if user clicks "Insert
Link" for any of the evidence displayed in the right side panel of the
narrative page, then it will embed the particular evidence at the end of
the editor (where the text ends).
2. If user has highlighted some text in the text editor and clicks the
"Insert Link" for any of the evidence, then that particular text converts
into a hyperlink.
3. If user has placed the cursor anywhere in the editor for example:
between any text and then click "Insert Link" for any of the evidence, then
the evidence will get embed where the cursor is placed.

While accessing this area using keyboard, we are not able to perform the
2nd and 3rd point mentioned above.

There should be a keyboard shortcut available for points 2 and 3,
something like alt-i or via the context menu. #3 is bascially what yo
do in Microsoft Word, place the cursor where you want and click
"insert link" from the context menu.
If the first option, the one that is keyboard accessible, only allows
you to place a link at the end of the document whereas the other two
options allow you to place links anywhere within the document content,
this is a keyboard accessibility fail.
