Is there any website that list all web/software accessiblity laws in different countries? i need specific content, insteading reading complete ADA am looking for exact portation which address web/softwared and inforamtion accessiblity.
here am trying to promote Information accessiblity / web accessiblity in my country but here no law, so usually people not give much attention.
Here are some software houses and their association, they export software to many countries, after reading laws in different countries I can research what countries they export and what law of that country apply, so it'l be much easy to talk with them on this issue as in this case that will be in their own interest.
Always with thanks & regards
Akram

Hi Muhammad,
I have a partial (but searchabale) list of sites here:
http://www.standards-schmandards.com/projects/government-guidelines/
The W3C has a larger list with a broader focus here:
http://www.w3.org/WAI/Policy/

Two years ago, the Support-EAM project compiled an overview of web
accessibility policies in the European Union:
This does not cover the 10 countries that joined the EU on 1 May 2004
or non-EU member states (e.g. Switzerland and Norway).
The International Center for Disability Resources on the Internet
(ICDRI) also has links to legal and policiy resources at
<http://www.icdri.org/Global%20Legal%20Resources/global_legal_resources.htm>.

WebAIM has a website as well as this discussion list, and the WebAIM website
has a good overview of international laws, including links to web versions
of each set of laws/standards/regulations:
World Laws - Introduction to Laws Throughout the World
http://www.webaim.org/articles/laws/world/
and
United States Laws - Introduction to US Laws
http://www.webaim.org/articles/laws/usa/

Try "World Laws: Introduction to Laws Throughout the World" from WebAIM at
http://www.webaim.org/articles/laws/world/. Cheers, Corey.

Also while not related purely to accessibility Outlaw.com is worth a
look. A colleague of mine was talking about it yesterday (Cheers Matt!)
so I visited it and did a search for accessibility. It turned up a lot
of cool articles/links etc.

Hi Peter Krantz
thanks for your site, I visited there and also follows some links, to me it seems most of those countries have guidelines only, though i didn't read thoroughly yet.
What i want to know is that, if there is any law that bound developer of web sites or software to make their product accessible for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and if it fail anyone can sue in court or something like.
Software export might not give much importance to guidelines only untill they start losing their business then they will run around. before it happen here none cared about ISO 9000 etc., ever but when importers' countries demands this certificate all the exports showed interest.
if any of you have some information on it, any case i court , etc will help.
Thanks
Akram
