Hello WebAim List,

Lately, I have noticed that GMail addresses may include a soft hyphen or
dash as read by the NVDA screen reader in an email address.
Example: JoeJunior (soft hyphen) 12 at .....mail.com".
If I type Joe Junior an email, do I omit the - where indicated by the
screen reader?
The answer appears to be yes from the pasted explanation:

Featured snippet from the web
Soft hyphens, like other invisible characters, have been used to obscure
malicious domains or URLs in e-mail spam. They are also used in emails to
try to defeat spam prevention systems.

Thanks for your help!
