Hi all.
Does anyone know how well (if at all) aria is supported by Jaws or window Eyes? Does anyone know if support is planned or anything else relevant about the standard?

The document at <http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Accessible_DHTML>; states:
"Screen reader support is only available in Firefox 1.5 or later.
Here are the required components that must be installed:
1. Firefox: download and install Firefox.
2. Screen reader: for testing with a screen reader, Window-Eyes
5.5 or later is required. In addition, JAWS 7.x or later has partial
support for ARIA. Also, Orca 2.20 or later has support for most ARIA
widget types for Firefox 3.0."
The sections on supported roles and supported properties provide
further details.
Is this the kind of information you're after?

It may also be worth mentioning that Microsoft has added some support
for ARIA in IE 8 beta:

However, I'm not sure how well that works with either JAWS or
Window-Eyes at the moment.

I have tested a few roles and states and seems to work OK, on par with
Firefox 3 for what i tested.
