Well, the term "widget" is fairly common, and already in widespread use
before Apple's dashboard thingy. I seem to recall that Konfabulator (now
Yahoo! Widgets) got there before Apple, and even before that the term
and functionality was already available in one of the
Stardock/Windowsblinds shell replacements for Windows and certain Linux
display managers...so yeh, widgets != Apple...but I digress :)
