We won't stick an "Apple Fan Boi" sticker on you right away.

If I need to check something with a "real" screen reader, I always use my
MacBook and VoiceOver. Most of the on-line testing apps are OS neutral and
work as a browser plugin or through a website.

As I still don't really know my way around VoiceOver (I have to keep the
cheat sheet handy), I sometimes have to call on my screen reading friends
like @steveofmaine to put the site through its paces.

I regularly use Win7, but also have a machine with Win XP and one with
Ubuntu.

Subject: [WebAIM] accessibility testing using a Mac?

Hello,

I've taken the plunge and am now the owner of a MacBook pro. My plan is not
to replace my PC, although I've heard I may get converted. Rather, the
intention is, as someone working in accessibility, to totally immerse myself
in the world of VoiceOver, Safari, and so on, simply to gain 1st-hand user
experience using the Mac and to observe and understand differences re
accessibility interacting with the web using a Mac VS a PC.

On that, curious if folks are using a Mac/VoiceOver as part of their
accessibility testing process?
