Hi,
I've been silently reading the list. I decided to use the following summary
on my page layout tables (also until I get better with CSS). I thought these
were much more informative for screen reader users and may even help orient
them to the page.
Main table:
summary="this table used for layout. table contains entire contents of this
page."
Nested tables:
summary="this table used for layout. table contains main menu."
summary=" this table used for layout. table contains main page content."
summary="this table used for layout. table contains footer content."
"this table used for layout" becomes redundant, but I think it buys the
screen reader listener a moment to prepare for what is coming and/or to
change tables, if this is possible. I haven't learned JAWS that well yet.
