==========I have watched the available information for Web Accessibility blossom
so much over a short period of time.
What I can not find a lot of information on, as of now, is Software
(Application), Hardware, E-learning accessibility.
==========

One I have not seen mentioned and is an excellent resources is Trace
Center.
Information on kiosks, voting booths and more are available on site.
[also included is interface considerations and speech synthesis]

Trace - designing consumer products with accessibility and aging in
mind.

Trace and Designing usable Documents[learning, reading, print materials,
distance Ed, govt efforts, forums, and organizations.]

Trace - and Designing More Usable Computers and Software issues
[covers a lot of areas, software toolkits, standards, resources
including word prediction software issues-this is neat stuff for
bridging the communication/literacy barriers]

http://trace.wisc.edu/world/computer_access/software/index.htm
[application software guidelines]

of Design for Computers with accessibility in mind, note the date of
1988 and we are still working out better ways.]

My daughter has been using assisstive technology devices for about 16
years now so these items are not at all brand new but have been part of
a system of assisstive technologies for a long while.

As far as e learning and learning media, I think that NCAM is a very
good resource with links to other resources that might be needed or
helpful.

CPB/WGBH National Center for Accessible Media
"The CPB/WGBH National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) is a research
and development facility dedicated to the issues of media and
information technology for people with disabilities in their homes,
schools, workplaces, and communities.
NCAM's mission is: to expand access to present and future media for
people with disabilities; to explore how existing access technologies
may benefit other populations; to represent its constituents in
industry, policy and legislative circles; and to provide access to
educational and media technologies for special needs students. "

As far as tools and software , a search on and delve into
Assisstive Technology Devices,
Augmentative Communication Devices
etc, will yield a wealth of information on the tools and development of
software and applications aimed at those with differing and a wider
range of challenges including cognitive.

[sometimes finding the answers, ideas, or directions for better ways
comes from looking beyond the narrower scope of how to write web page
markup. Seeing how these tools work, trying some of these tools, gives
us ideas on where or how things may work or fail for web or digital
technologies on or off line, for computers or hand held devices, or
store or public access devices. It is bigger than web, however, web is
also part of it all.]
