Julius,
In some instances, it may make sense to have an evaluator who understands
the language. For example, if you need to determine that links are
meaningful enough. How would you know that a link named "presione aqui"
means "click here" and determine that is an issue? Otherwise I think you
should be able to identify the other major issues on your own.
Thanks,
Giovanni

Subject: [WebAIM] evalluating websites in different languages
Hi everyone.
My goal in this message is to ask for your advice regarding the process of
evaluating websites containing languages other than English.
Has anyone experienced evaluating a website containing a language you're not
familiar with? How did you go about doing it?
I know that we can still check the accessibility of certain elements (e.g.
page titles, headings, color contrast, links for bypassing
content) of websites containing a language we're not familiar with.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think that these websites can be best
evaluated by accessibility specialists who speak the language contained in
the site?
Thank you.
Julius
