We are using this in 3 places.

I didn't have any problems with my screen reader testing. It uses WAI ARIA.
I have one with sorting column activated, and two just tables.

At one point I had scrollbars enabled and that is the one I saw that
produced two tables as you describe. Sorting does not produce two
tables.

I decided against using their jquery solution for scrollbars for
reasons that had nothing to do with accessibility.

I couldn't control the formatting enough across all the browsers that
we support. Also, our power users wanted to print all the data and I
couldn't figure out how to remove the scroll bars for print.
