What Jared said sounds good. Additional information: my client is able to stream on port 554 from other servers (apple). I have heard that the QT
client may try to negotiate with the port 80 server if there is any problem with the port 554 stream, which could explain the difficulty.
You should look at hint tracks (I assumed you did have one but am questioning that assumption):
