The last time I tested this - about 6 months ago I got the following results.

VO + Mac OS + Adobe Reader = Docs fine, Form Filling No
VO + Mac OS + Mac's PDF reader = Nothing
Mac OS + Adobe Reader using Read Out Loud Feature = Poor Performance and No Forms Support
VO + iOS + Adobe Reader = Docs fie, Form Filling No
VO + Mac OS + Mac's PDF reader = Nothing

I did not test any other combination. We were looking for support for forms at the time and found that when using Apple devices that about the only functional option is a native app or html.

It used to be, but it seems based on some research I found this morning, they are no longer compatible: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1677261. That being said, has anyone else identified this as an issue and perhaps sought out an alternate method?

Forgive my ignorance in this area but is VO accessible with Adobe Reader for Mac? I never had the need to read a PDF on a Mac before.

Subject: [WebAIM] Adobe Forms and VoiceOver

We're working on testing all our Adobe Forms for the employee benefits section of our site from an accessibility standpoint. I'm able to test and confirm them on a Windows computer using NVDA, but when my coworker uses VoiceOver on her Mac laptop using Adobe Acrobat, the form isn't read at all. Has anyone else encountered issues with VoiceOver on a Mac with Adobe Acrobat? If so, were you able to resolve the issues?
