Hello Lisa and All,
> A list is expected to be text,
Yes and the Alt-Text ist Text.
Suppose there is a list of things that can be done fully, partially, or not at all. The individual states are represented by bars that are partly green and partly red.
Now an alt text could be like this: "Horizontal rectangle with an aspect ratio of 1 to 10. The left half is green, the right half is red.".
Such an alt-text would violate the rules for good alt-text in many ways (contextuality, parsimony, non-redundancy, ...). So the correct alt text should be something like: "Partially" or "50%"
So if the cheese for the next party was partially bought, the output of the SR for this item on the to-do list would be: "list entry graphic Partial cheese".
Advanced users would suppress the words "list item" and "graphic" in either their SR or brain settings, so that "Partial Cheese" would be left.
That would be perfectly understandable for (us) SR users.
